R.E. Style Feature : Shabbyscrap

I am in love with this little shop. So. In. Love. I had the most ridiculous time trying to decide which photos to include in today's RE. Style feature. Marleen Carroll of Shabbyscrap creates one of a kind guestbooks, invitations, journals, scrapbooks, and more; all with a distinctively vintage chic look. Everything she creates is richly layered, gorgeously detailed, and incredibly charming.

In the spotlight today is Katie Woodard and her online shop, Twigs Print Studio. Twigs specializes in custom wedding invitations and decorative prints. With a look that often evokes a retro feel and colors that pop, Katie describes her work as "bright, with modern elements and vintage inspirations". No stranger to custom work, she loves working with clients "to create items that fit perfectly into their life".

Dawn + James : Eco-Friendly Wedding

Today's real wedding features Dawn and James' eco-friendly event at the Four Rivers Environmental Center, located just outside of Chicago in the McKinley Woods Forest Preserve. As the bride told me, "By planning a 'green' wedding, we hope that our eco-friendly elements lessen the environmental footprint of our special day and truly make a difference."

Their story is a classic opposites attract tale. Dawn is from the city, James is from the country. She's and interior designer, he's a farmer & lumberjack. It was important to them for their wedding to reflect both of their personalities and to maintain an elegant feel while incorporating natural elements. The result was an intimate, sophisticated event that perfectly represented the blending of two unique individuals.

R.E. Style Feature : Papercraft

For today's Rew Elliott Style feature I am so happy to bring back one of my "Real Wedding" brides,  Maile Ehlers, owner of Papercraft. Maile was inspired to start her business after designing the invitations for her own wedding. She is currently transitioning from her full time job as a graphic designer to her new role as full time entrepreneur

Color Palette : Bride's Blush

For me, few colors are as delicate and refined as classic blush. It evokes a vintage quality and romantic feel that are so perfect as the backdrop for many wedding venues and themes. This inspiration board combines blush with classic ivory and gray for a timeless feel. From the rhinestone shoe clips to the conservatory reception venue and classic wedding cake design, the overall feeling is elegant and understated.

They're soft, they're delicate, they're romantic - and they're a popular trend for 2012 weddings. From elegant to whimsical, posh to rustic, feathers have made their way into just about every wedding genre. They can be found in bridal fashions, flowers, and wedding cake design, as well as on invitations, favors, and table decor.
