Trend Watch: Woodland Weddings

For brides with upcoming weddings to plan, there are many beautiful wedding trends this year. One of my favorites is the woodland wedding. Combining rustic elements and natural elegance is at the heart of this event. Long veils, garlands, touches of fairy dust, intimate settings, family style food service - these are all ways of rethinking the traditional wedding experience.

What's New With Rew - Autumn 2012 Events

I'm diving right in to the as yet uncharted waters of craft shows and artisan markets! I'm really excited to be a part of two outstanding events over the next couple of months. I will be taking Rew Elliott on the road to the Bella Rustica Barn Sale and the Webb School Art & Craft Fair, commonly referred to as the "Bell Buckle" show.

Bella Rustica is right up my alley, featuring artisan crafts and vintage booths - all with a charming, rustic-chic appeal. Having just moved to the Nashville area, I was a late entry and not expecting to be able to  participate this year. I literally jumped out of my chair when I got the acceptance email.

The Bell Buckle Show boasts between 80-100 thousand visitors over the course of the event weekend. Yes, you read that right... that's a lot of folks. Truthfully, I'm a little intimidated by those numbers, but very excited to be taking part in this much anticipated yearly event.

R.E. Style Feature : Bead Flora

I've known Fen of Bead Flora & Jewels for nearly as long as I've been an Etsy artisan. Her beautiful hand beaded floral creations are truly something special. Fine craftsmanship and elegant design are hallmarks of her exquisite work. Her designs were also included in the 2012 MTV Movie Awards celebrity gift lounge via The Artisan Group. I have long adored the handiwork of today's R.E. Style feature, Hirjalda Mobley of Sofisticata. Very popular among Etsy shoppers and shop owners alike, she specializes in handmade fascinators, hair pieces, hair pins, and more. But today, I'd like to focus on her gorgeous shoe clips. Shoe clips are gaining in popularity and are a wonderful way to insert your personality into your bridal ensemble. Classic or funky, understated or over the top - Hirjalda's shop has something for every bride.

R.E. Style Feature : Papercraft

For today's Rew Elliott Style feature I am so happy to bring back one of my "Real Wedding" brides,  Maile Ehlers, owner of Papercraft. Maile was inspired to start her business after designing the invitations for her own wedding. She is currently transitioning from her full time job as a graphic designer to her new role as full time entrepreneur.

In The Details : Glass Fairy Lights

Today I ran across these beautiful, artisan crafted, glass fairy lights. Handmade by Wendy Jeavons, owner of  Redbrick Glass, these fairy light strands come in a beautiful array of colors and three different petal sizes. Each bulb is surrounded by six fused glass discs resulting in delicate, luminescent effect.
