Trend Watch - Colors for Spring 2012

 

If you're planning a wedding, you know one of the most difficult choices (besides finding the perfect dress of course), is finding the perfect color palette to use.

Color sets the mood for the event and is reflected in everything from bridesmaid dresses and jewelry, to flowers and table decor, to invitations and cake selections. 

While "tangerine tango" is the official color of the year for 2012, as dubbed by Pantone's fashion color reports, the other nine colors in the trending spring color lineup are sure to captivate your creativity and inspire your inner design goddess as well. 

What I like about these colors is that they are incredibly fresh, and very versatile. Nearly any two or three of these colors can be blended together beautifully. Whether the look your are going for is classic and understated, soft and romantic, or bold and eye catching, you can create all of these moods and many more with this palette. 

I particularly like the inclusion of the colors "driftwood" and "starfish". They each lend a vintage elegance that is so lovely, even when paired with one of the bolder colors. This inspiration board features brilliant tangerine quieted by subtle driftwood gray. It is a fresh and energetic look while remaining tasteful and classic.The rustic and handmade elements also serve to add a level of charm and delicacy to the otherwise powerful orange hues.
