Maile + Gerry : Minerals Resort Wedding

Today's real wedding feature showcases Maile and Gerry's Minerals Resort Wedding. Located in Vernon, New Jersey, part of the larger Crystal Springs Resort, the romantic venue perfectly reflected their personal style. As Maile told me, "It was a really easy choice for us. The location and ambiance were perfect for our rustic taste".

From the custom invitations, burlap table runners, and simple wood accents the wedding was full of charming rustic and handmade elements, many made by Maile herself. 


"I had never been one of those girls who dreamed about their wedding day, but once I got into it I was totally hooked. We wanted something that was really unique, affordable and screamed 'us' and I didn't feel like any of those stock invitations would work." 


Her solution was to design her own invitations, which quickly evolved into her designing "literally every aspect of our wedding. I couldn't wait to come home from work to work on my wedding projects."

I asked Maile what was the best advice she received when planning her wedding. "Don't sweat the small stuff. Sure, it's a day you will never forget. But you know what you will forget? The hors d'eovres... etc."

Her advice for brides currently planning their big day, "Stay true to yourselves. But it's not just about you - it's about the joining of your families. Make sure it's extra special for them too."
